Today I’m covering Salted Caramel by Sweetness & Light. Sweetness & Light is an old fashioned, family-owned candy kitchen and store located in Ferndale, California. They make a wealth of chocolates, caramels, truffles and more fresh daily.
Salted Caramel
My lovely wife and I recently sampled the Salted Caramel variety from Sweetness & Light. Our box came with half light and half dark chocolate. The inside is caramel while the outside is either light or dark chocolate with a bit of sea salt on the top. The chocolate is Guittard chocoloate.
These caramels are unbelievable. The inside is so buttery that it literally makes me chew in slow motion. The chocolate just offsets the caramel without overpowering the flavor. When you get a few grains of the sea salt, the combination is fantastic.
Box sizes for these caramels start at six pieces and go all the way up to 48. If I had a 48 piece that would be scary. I’m afraid I’d eat them all in 24 hours. Two per hour doesn’t sound all that bad, does it?
